Why this exists

Built out of frustration.

I wanted to build a consistent workout routine. So I tried the apps everyone recommends. They all wanted $15 to $30 per month just to log sets and reps.

I'm a developer. So I built my own. Fit Project started as a personal tool — something I use every single day at the gym. It does exactly what I needed: log workouts quickly, track my progress over time, and generate smart routines based on what I've actually been doing.

Now I'm putting it out there for anyone who wants the same thing. No venture capital. No monetization plan. No catch. Just a workout app that works.

Is Fit Project really free?+
Yes. Completely free. No subscription, no premium tier, no in-app purchases, no ads. Fit Project was built as a personal project by a developer who was tired of paying monthly fees to log workouts. There is no plan to charge for it.
How does Smart Rotation work?+
Smart Rotation generates your weekly workout plan based on your profile settings — experience level, primary goal, available equipment, weekly frequency (2-7 days), and session duration (15-120 minutes). It creates a balanced split (push, pull, lower body, etc.) and rotates through it, factoring in what muscle groups you've recently trained and your progression over time.
What can I track during a workout?+
For each exercise you can track sets (including warm-up sets), reps, weight, and rest periods. After completing an exercise, you rate your effort using Reps in Reserve (RIR). The app also tracks your total session time, total volume, personal records, and shows your strength curve progression over time.
What data do you collect?+
Fit Project is privacy-first. Your workout data is not sold to advertisers, shared with third parties, or used for tracking. There are no analytics trackers, no ads, no data brokers. Your fitness data is yours alone.
Can I use my own workouts instead of generated ones?+
Absolutely. You can create custom workout templates, save completed workouts as templates, and build your own weekly routine from scratch. The AI generation is there when you want it, but you're never locked into it.
What equipment is supported?+
Fit Project supports bench, barbell (with plate configuration), dumbbells (with custom weight ranges), kettlebells, cables, pull-up bar, and more. You toggle what you have, specify details like your dumbbell range, and the app only generates workouts using equipment available to you.
What platforms is Fit Project available on?+
Fit Project is launching on both iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store). Both versions are completely free.
